I am Dr. Susan Wilkinson and I'm a 2000 honours graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College. I really enjoy new puppy and kitten visits and soft tissue surgery. I also have a special place in my heart for our geriatric patients. My personal menagerie includes 4 dogs, 2 cats and 1 horse. Willow the Timber Wolf is also a very special member of my family. Bernese Mountain Dogs are a very big part of my life - Syrrah and Rawdny come to work with me everyday and we have lots of fun together training and showing in many dog sports (obedience, rally, tracking, drafting, agility and even freestyle dace!) Sennyn the English Cocker also comes to work everyday and does many of the same dog sports. Rowyn the Border Collie mix usually holds down the home fort. Vynce the Maine Coon cat used to be our clinic cat, but he went home with me one day and never came back to the clinic! He's my awesome silver tiger in the house... My other cat, MacGyver was also a rescue that came home from the clinic too (it's a hazard of being in a vet clinic...)
Steffani first joined the veterinary field at a practice in Simcoe where she spent 20 years enjoying and learning all aspects of veterinary medicine. She has a special interest in animal behaviour and has had the opportunity to study with some of the world's leading behavioural experts. Steffani can be found grooming or doing any of the necessary jobs within the practice. Steff is also an accomplished Equestrian in both English and Western disciplines. However she is probably best known for her Great Danes. Steff lives on a farm with her husband. She has 4 children and lots of animals (big and small) that she has acquired over the years.
Anna graduated from Seneca College in 1994 as a Veterinary Technician. She joined our team in the fall of 2010. Her days as a vet tech are usually busy ones with her working in the lab doing bloodwork and monitoring the patients during surgery. Anna also brings with her 20 years of experience working in a veterinary emergency hospital as well. Her interests include reading, baseball, watching movies and home improvements. Anna lives on a farm with her husband, 3 sons, and her fur-babies Sadie, a Spaniel Mix along with Autumn and Bryan the cats.
Etta knew at a young age that animals would always be a big part of her life. She had many different types of animals growing up, from reptiles to livestock. Etta did her high school co-op program in the veterinary field and never looked back. She was then hired after her placement as a kennel attendant. Etta joined the team here at Big Creek Veterinary Hospital in August 2011. During her spare time Etta is often at the farm working with her horses or out hiking with her 2 children and their dogs. Etta’s furry family consists of 2 Chihuahua's; Melody and Ruthie, a mix breed dog, Koris. 2 cats; Bob and Betoo and 2 horses; Rosie and Reinnett. Etta loves meeting new faces and will be sure to give your furry friend a warm welcome.
Rachel joined our team in May 2014 as a new graduate from the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus Veterinary Office Administration program. Rachel started out with us back in 2012 with her high school co-op and again in 2014 for her work placement for University. She always knew that she wanted a career with animals as she grew up on a farm and took in many strays. Rachel and her husband live with their Lab Mix rescue dog, Boomer who she adopted from University. She also has 3 crazy cats, Thea, Ollie and Melvin. Ollie and Melvin hold a special spot in Rachel's heart as she hand-raised them from birth. In her spare time she likes to spend time with her family and fur-babies. You will often see Rachel behind the desk at the clinic making sure everything goes smoothly on your way in and out.
